The Confluera Journey

Abhijit Ghosh
Co-founder/CTO

In August 2019 at the BlackHat security conference, we came out of stealth to launch Confluera, and announce our Series A funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Ever since the launch, our Autonomous Detection and Response (ADR) platform has received tremendous reception from Analysts, Architects, CISOs, and thought Leaders. Security practitioners from all verticals have shared their long-standing desire for an autonomous solution that can surface out attacks and give them an upper hand to proactively mitigate threats. In every interaction with security leaders, we are confirming that the challenges around modern sophisticated attacks, shortage of skills, and infrastructure complexities, can only be managed by a technology that is purpose built to address them.

With support for all major Linux/Windows distributions, we made the ADR platform generally available in December 2019. Since then we have onboarded multiple customers and deployed the platform to cover full production ecosystems in both public IaaS and private data center environments. We have also established relationships with several leading channel partners who are enthusiastic about the autonomous detection benefits we bring to their customers.

On one end, we have continued to enhance the platform’s behavior and anomaly detection capabilities, and on the other we are integrated with other third-party security products at a rapid pace to bring in useful security context that is often isolated and overlooked. We were awarded the coveted InfoSec award at RSA’ 2020, and our technology has been granted multiple patents in a very short period.

Today, I am extremely delighted to announce our partnership with Icon Ventures who is leading our Series B funding. The Icon team brings deep expertise in the domain with their early investments in iconic security companies such as Fireeye, Palo Alto Networks and Proofpoint. Our existing investors, Lightspeed Venture Partners, John W. Thompson, and Lane Bess continue their participation in this round, and I look forward to a new chapter in the evolution of Confluera with them.
